This award recognises architectural practices that consider Modern Methods of Construction as the key design component in the construction of non-domestic or residential buildings. This award is open to all UK registered architectural firms.

In the application process there a requirement to showcase a design that has one or more categories of MMC at the core of the design. In application the entry should identify how the practice engaged with clients to positively embraces MMC and how the wider supply chain is engaged.

Please include at least one client testimonial with your entry and one testimonial from the supplier of MMC components.

Judges are looking for a practice that has been a leading force in the choice of Modern Methods of construction in design.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 

  • How does your firm see Modern Methods of Construction in the current construction market. What sectors are more fitting to MMC and why?
  • How your firm is responding to the current market conditions? What are you doing differently? What is your approach to partnering with clients and suppliers?
  • How your firm approaches sustainability in business operations and projects (How does Net Zero feature within your operations and projects?) 
  • How your firm approaches health and safety policy and corporate social responsibility 
  • How your firm resources training and R&D (Specifically in relation to MMC, where is investment made?)

The awards for temporary bulding project categories recognise the unsung heros using Modern Methods of Construction. For this category budling projects must be within the Educaiton or Healthcare sector, where the requirement was to provide a building for a temporary period intended to be two years or less.

This award is open to all UK registered organisations supplying temporary buildings for sale, hire or lease, or end users, contractors leading the project.

The entry should focus around a specific projects where there was a temporary requirement for a complete building or extension to building required. Please include a client testimonial with your entry.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 

  • What was the client issue and how did the use of Modern Methods of Construction provide a solution?
  • What were the specific challenges faced by the project in terms of working area, constraints of existing building, etc?
  • How did the project approach sustainability? Was the carbon impact of the project a consideration?  
  • What was the your approach to health and safety and corporate social responsibility on the project.
  • How has the use of MMC improved the well being in the local community/area?
  • How was the building handed over the client to ensure the full benefits of MMC design realised? 
  • What is the future for the building used on the project once completed?

This award is open to all UK registered organisations supplying temporary buildings for sale, hire or lease, or end users, project managers or contractors using temporary buildings.

The entry should focus around a specific projects where there was a temporary requirement for a complete building or extension to building required. Please include a client testimonial with your entry.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 

  • What was the client issue and how did the use of Modern Methods of Construction provide a solution?
  • What were the specific challenges faced by the project in terms of working area, constraints of existing building, etc?

Achieving Net Zero in a Project

Achieving Net Zero in a Project

Award entries close 28 February 2025

This category is open to all members of a project team for a UK based project that has been compelted (or has at least one phase of completion) where there is substaintial evidence that the project has made an outstanding contribution towards reducing carbon emissions within the built environment, achiving or contribution to the net zero agenda.

Projects entered into this category should include the reduction of the emissions from construction, operation and details of the life cycle benefits. Projects can be in any sector non-domestic or residential, private or public sector, permanent or temporary build as long as employing the use of MMC.

A client testimonial is required as part of the entry.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 

  • How have carbon emissions been reduced and/or achieved a net zero target? How did the use of Modern Methods of Construction provide a key element to the approach?
  • What innovations were used in the approach to the project? Consider materials, technologies and or other factors.
  • What were the specific challenges faced by the project in terms of working area, constraints of existing building, etc? Was the project compelted on time and on budget?
  • How did the project approach sustainability? What are the ongoing commitments to the evniroment as a result of the project?
  • How was the building handed over the client to ensure the full benefits of MMC design realised?

This category is open to all types of companies working in the MMC industry who can demonstrate success in equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives. Equality, diversity and inclusion brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the construction industry. This award aims to recognise industry-leading performance and showcase organisations who are going the extra mile to recruit from a diverse background and improve diversity in their leadership teams.

This awards can be entered by individials or UK registered companies working within the UK MMC industry, as architect, consultant, contractor, manufacturer or within the supply chain.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 

  • Evidence of encouraging inclusive participation and eliminating discrimination
  • Evidence of the impact of work/initiative on promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Commitment to the values of equality, diversity and inclusion beyond the expectations of their job role/project
  • Examples of innovation in response to an equality and diversity issue

This award recognises the client of a project that shows an outstanding commitment to Modern Methods of Construction, embracing innovation in construction and engaging the supply chain collaboratively, showing a responsible attitude to sustainability for a project, on time and on budget.

This award is open to all UK registered companies. The client can enter directly or be nominated by a member of their supply chain, with permission from the client. 

Judges are looking for a client that has been a leading force in the choice of Modern Methods of construction in design.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 

  • How the client approached the delivery of the project? How did the use of Modern Methods of Construction provide a key element to the approach?
  • How the client is responding to the current market conditions. What innovations were used in the approach to the project? Consider materials, technologies and or other factors.

This award seeks to recognise innovation. This could be at any point in a project cycle or within the supply chain. Please outline in the application how the innovation has led to either increased safety, increased performance and/or reduced carbon emissions.

The award is open to any UK registered company that is working within the MMC industry, either as part of the construction chain, manufacturer of buildings or part of the wider supply chain.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 

  • How the innovation has led to proven improvement in the outcome through design or research.
  • Clear ambitions, strategies and action plans which intentionally drive positive change.
  • How does the innovation use progressive procurement policies to enable and reward supply chain innovation.
  • Show clear evidence of action taken, and results achieved, that show a positive significant step change in performance compared to previous years and most others in the sector.

The award for women in MMC is dedicated to recognising and honouring exceptional women who have made significant contributions to the industry. By highlighting their achievements, we can inspire future generations and promote workforce development.

The award is open to all women actively employed within the MMC Industry, including contracting, subcontracting, speciality trades and other allied fields. Employment could be in design, engineering, hire control, marketing, purchasing or any other role where exceptional or outstanding performance has been demonstrated.

This award may be entered directly, or a candidate may be nominated by their employer or colleagues. The named person must give permission for the entry.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 

  • Evidence of outstanding or exceptional performance.
  • Evidence of the impact of work/initiative on promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrate a high level of respect from industry peers, leaders and clients.
  • Evidence of respect to other members of the MMC industry.
